How to get more Google reviews as a beauty tech

SolvePoint · 21 October 2026

Reviews are how a stranger decides whether to trust you. Most happy clients never leave one because nobody asked them. A simple habit fixes that.

1. Set up your Google Business Profile

Search for your business on Google. If it doesn’t appear, create a free profile. Reviews can only be left on a profile, so this comes first.

Add your town, services, hours and photos while you’re there.

2. Get your review link

In your profile there’s a way to share a link that opens straight to the review box. Save it somewhere you can paste from your phone in seconds.

3. Ask at the right moment

The best time is when a client has just said they love the result. Say it then: “I’m so glad! If you’ve got a minute, a Google review would really help me.”

Send the link in a message the same day, before the moment passes.

4. Make it easy

Send one message with one link. Don’t ask for a long review, just an honest one. A few words from a real client are worth more than a polished paragraph.

5. Reply to every review

A short thank-you shows you’re active, and future clients read the replies. Reply to a bad review calmly and briefly, without arguing.

6. What not to do

Don’t offer money or discounts in return for a review, don’t write your own, and don’t ask only the clients you expect to say yes. Google’s rules don’t allow it, and clients can tell.

Questions

How many reviews do I need?

There’s no magic number. A steady trickle of recent, honest reviews is worth more than a burst from a year ago.

What if I get an unfair review?

Reply politely with the facts. You can flag a review that breaks Google’s rules, but most unfair ones are best answered calmly and left.

Should I ask on Instagram too?

Tagging and sharing client posts helps people see you, but Google reviews are what show up when someone searches your name.
